Fern Garden
In 2003 we made a geodesic dome to house the late Peter Hainsworth’s outstanding fern collection. When we started gardening in 1977 Peter Hainsworth was an inspiration and adviser.
Former Head Gardener Geoff Stephenson and Frances MacKenzie became fascinated by ferns and with the help of Martin Rickard and other fern enthusiasts, we now have one of the largest fern collections in Scotland, beautifully displayed in a old quarry and the sunken fern garden.
