The Viewpoint
The rocky viewpoint at the end of the rhododendron walk is reached by a specially built stone stairway to give a view of the Skye hills through the Strome Narrows.
The largest Beinn na Caillich is twenty five miles away beyond Broadford. You also get a birds eye view of the house and sunken garden.
Below the viewpoint the bronze "Cheetah" by Hamish Mackie (2008) is poised on a natural rock. A bronze "Crowned Eagle" by Rosie Sturgis perches beside you.
Front Drive
West, towards the house, the view is framed by rhododendron yakushinanum, meconopsis and hellebores on one side and a bed of junipers, azalea luteum and a fine acer japonicum palmatum on the other.
